Come Follow Me (Primary): March 13-19, Matthew 11-12; Luke 11

March 13 - 19  Matthew 11-12 & Luke 11

"I Will Give You Rest"

Heavenly Father Gives Us good gifts

Use an object lesson to explain the Savior's teachings in Luke 11: 11-13
  • If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

What are some good gifts God has given us?

Here are some eggs that I printed out and laminated. The children can help put these inside the egg carton for the object lesson! Some of the eggs have ideas of "good gifts" that Heavenly Father blesses us with, while others are blank for you to write on or for the kids to think of one on their own! The scorpion I got from The Red Crystal!

I can keep the sabbath day holy

Show a calendar to the children with Sunday highlighted for them
  • Can you see which of these days is Sunday?
  • What do we do on all the other days of the week?
  • What can we do on the Sabbath to make it different from other days?

Sabbath day activity
  • Ask the children to pick one of the missing body parts out of the bag (eyes, ears, mouth, hands)
  • Ask them to tell you something that these parts of our bodies can do to keep the Sabbath day holy
    • Hands: Help others/service (do dishes, chores, make meals, etc.), crafts, family history, etc.
    • Eyes: Watch good movies, read scriptures, look at the temple, etc.
    • Ears: Listen to good music, listen to speakers at church, etc.
    • Mouth: Sing primary songs, pray, talk to & visit neighbors, etc.

I cut these out and laminated them!
